New hope

Haiku Horizon’s prompt for this week #121 is ‘time’. I wrote about having hope with the passing of time. Sometimes, having hope is all the reason one needs to wake up and get up every morning.

Blooming
Attractive montane flowers

New hope

With each day new hope
Better than the day before
But time waits for none

Spending time

This week, Haiku Horizons reached its landmark 100th post! 😀  Best of all, it’s still going strong. The word prompt for this week is ‘spend’. I wrote a haiku about making the effort to spend time with loved ones. It is strange, but many people go the extra mile to be nice to friends and acquaintances and the occasional stranger, but tend to neglect the people closest to them. Perhaps the proverb ‘familiarity breeds contempt’ rings true?

Spending time

Dearly beloved
Won’t you spend some time with me
In the morning breeze

No Time

For my 14th post for the  Blogging A to Z Challenge, I wrote a lighthearted poem entitled NO TIME, NO TIME. You know, some people always say that 24 hours is never enough to do all the things they wanted to do? This poem is dedicated to them. 🙂

N is for ‘No Time’

No Time, No Time

No time, no time
Said the busy rabbit
With a watch coloured lime
Down the hole, full of grit

No time, no time
Said the young boy on his bike
On the muddy path, oozing slime
I’m late for school; can’t do as I like

No time, no time
Said the homemaker
Watching shows on prime time
Sipping lemon water

No time, no time
Said the tired student
Shivering in the cold clime
Finish this project; can’t be absent

No time, no time
Said the clerk at the counter
Without reason or rhyme
Desk empty; nary a folder

No time, no time
Said the CEO to his managers
Not sparing a dime
To buy the best golf offer

No time, no time
Said the safety inspector
Wiping his hands of grime
See you later, alligator

Time & New

For this week’s Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge #40, the word prompts are ‘time’ and ‘new’. I decided to write something on hopefulness and optimism. 🙂

New & Time
Now, the time is right
To explore new horizons
Adventure awaits!
